1972 Topps Baseball has 40 registered sets. WOW!!! I remember when there was only 40 total sets listed on the registry for all the sets.

This now ties us with the 1975 Topps Baseball set as the most popular set on the registry. It seems that there isn't enough graded cards to go around.

    Carlos - Out of the 40, how many would you estimate are serious players? It seems on all main-line sets there are a few who register a card or 2 and leave it at that...jay

    That is a good point. But there is no time limit and, who knows, years from now they may all be complete.

    I think that you more serious collectors scare off the newbies with your revolting initiation ceremony to become an official 72 collector. Hey, I'm no chicken, but you had me running for the hills................
