Autographed Topps Now

Does anyone know if the autographed Topps Now cards are really autographed or are they limited runs of cards with an autograph printed on them? The logistics of having a player individually sign 500+ cards mid-season and on a deadline had me questioning... For example, the recent Torres run - after HR #3, they came out with the autographed series of x/250, x/99, x/25, etc (or whatever the real numbers were...). Within a few weeks of making these available for sale, I’m guessing that they need to print the cards in their various color schemes then get them to Torres with an authenticator and have him sign all of them while keeping the cards in pristine condition. If true, I can kinda see why lots of modern sigs are just scribbles - would take someone like Campanella forever if asked to do something like this :)
