1986 Topps Nolan Ryan Anomalies

What gives on the sales that are 10-20 times the going rate? People can't be paying that multiple just because they think the card is a better PSA 10 than the ones that go for $30.... Why would one even set a price at $300, say, and risk getting "stuck" in one of these questionable situations?

Maybe I’m not following the question, but the PSA auction prices show all of the 10s selling for high $200s up into the $400s since the start of 2017...

Heck, I paid $416 for my PSA 10 in August, 2009, and that was a deal (it was less than a week before Memory Lane sold one for $735). I can remember when the card was over $1K!

Wow that is an immense multiple between a 9 and a 10. A little higher than 8 to 9 on ‘71 Nolan Ryan. In that year there are 29 9s to 564 8s. In ‘86 Topps there are 86 10s to 567 9s.
ahh...my bad...I thought I was looking at all PSA 10's...still getting used to PSA's auction tracker -- thanks for straightening me out
