1993 Upper Deck SP Jeter vs 1993 Upper Deck SP box...

Now that the 1993 Upper Deck SP Jeter psa-10 nearly hit $100k...I must ask the board the following question. Which will appreciate more...a 1993 Upper Deck SP Box or a 1993 Upper Deck SP Jeter psa-9 (psa-10s are priced out of most people's budget...so I'm comparing the psa-9 to the box which are currently comparable in price)? Which would you rather own too?

Maybe I am wrong, but if I ever had that much money to spend on this type of cardboard, I would get some vintage stuff.

    i vote the box.

psa 9 jordans sell for $4k and there are usually 3 in a box and the box price is way more than $12K

I don’t think you can make a correlation between a 93 SP box and an 86 Fleer Basketball box. It’s widely known that the 93 SP cards stick together, making pulling a Jeter and then not peeling any foil from the card very difficult. That’s not a problem with the 86 Fleer product.

With that being said, although I would rather have the PSA 9 Jeter, I’m guessing the boxes appreciate more so than the 9’s.

I don't think the foil cards stick together though?

While this doesn't necessarily mean you're wrong, this is not a good comparison in my opinion.

Other than Jeter and a couple other cards in PSA 10, the box holds very little value.

The '86 Fleer BK box is loaded, and I mean loaded, with cards than can bring high prices, especially in PSA 10. And don't forget about the 3-4 Jordan stickers in the box either.

    Let's use another example.

    Let's do 1980 Bkb.

The psa 10 sold for $85k
Psa 9 have sold for $3k

The psa 10 is pop 22 (same as Jeter)

    Wax box is $4500

Wax box is still more than the psa 9 price.

How many magic birds per box? This box would seem closer to the 93 SP Jeter box because most of the other cards are not worth much and Jeter foil is so tough like Bird Magic due to PD and Centering.

I would personally rather have the psa 9
