??? Makes no sense. They cant fulfill your order so if you don't call they will cancel it? What will they do if you do call? Not cancel it? If they can't fulfill it, wont it get canceled anyway?
And another thing - how does any of this "protect you against any fraudulent activity on your account" ?
There must be more to the email than what was reproduced here, or some illiterate person wrote it, or it is spam.
I got the same email today, at this point I really don't care if I get them or not.
They done this before they claim its to protect your credit card order. Probably been sitting in my Pay Pal to long
I added to the original thread. Don't panic ! They actually shipped. Second email received:
Dear Valued Customer,
You may have received a message this morning alerting you that an order you placed for World War I Silver Dollar and Medal Set(s) will be canceled. This message was sent in error, and your order is being processed without issue. A shipment confirmation will be sent to you once this is complete.
Please accept our apologies for this erroneous communication and any inconvenience or concern it may have caused.
Interesting but when I called them the Mint they never told me it was an error and they wanted my credit card along with all the other information that goes along. Now you could take the chance and do nothing but remember you were warned here first.
That's why I called. Did you get the second email? My order status now says PROCESSING for the WW1 sets.
Check your email for the follow up and check your order status.
I got the first email, while my order still showed processing. I called and was told they had to verify the order and CC info, once she did that she said the order has been confirmed and they will ship next week.
With the number of cancellations so far, and how many will allow the verification to fail, these numbers will be smaller still. I wonder what the final audited mintages will be.

My CS rep took about 20 seconds to look and said my CC was charged and the order is shipping. At least there is movement after 4 months since the order went in.
Just got the shipped email

Wow good for you Kud I did get a 2nd email but it was one that they charged my credit card. No appology. But glad to hear they are starting to ship out I am only getting the Coast Guard one maybe they ship out last.
see below
you authorized a transaction to The United States Mint. Money won't leave your account until The United States Mint processes your order.
Thanks for using PayPal. To see the full transaction details, log in to your PayPal account. Keep in mind, it may take a few moments for this transaction to appear.
I got one of each. I know I'm a hopeless addict. The first step is admitting it.
I am proud of you I also had all of them but cancelled all except the Coast Guard got 2 sets. But then I do have a problem I bought 5 of DC ss fingers and more of his coins. Costing me now a cool grand. Ouch! I am addicted too! I need a PCGS Board Intervention!

What a crazy way of doing business!
I knew it would happen.
Kinda like Kickstarter. Collect the money then do production.
I had these notices, both ways, today.
I didn't have time to address the issue early on in the day, and by the time I did have time, it had all corrected itself. Stuff is on its way now.
I am 99% certain that the problem came from my usage of Pay Pal. The U.S. Mint must be learning something new to it.
