Golf during a volcano? It's happening in Hawaii

Look, one general rule of thumb in life is, if there’s a [expletive]ing volcano exploding nearby, you put as much distance between yourself and said volcano as possible. But another general rule of life is, play golf whenever possible. So what happens when those two imperatives collide? Well, you can see for yourself in the photo above.

That shot, taken by Getty Images’ Mario Tama, depicts golfers still trying to sneak in a quick nine even as ash rises from the Kilauea volcano on Hawaii’s Big Island. Hey, check it out, there’s more:

    Watch out for the lava hazard on the 14th hole.

    I'm guessing that a pitching wedge would be best to use if your ball is in the lava trap.

    If the eruption doesn't make it into the volcano course in Golden Tee their developers suck.

    Might be a good idea to use a golf cart with a 350 V-8 motor just in case ya need it.
