If this thread is limited to actual legal names (as opposed to nicknames) then in addition to World B. Free I give you:

    Metta World Peace.

If nicknames are allowed I always liked Black Jesus (aka Walt Frazier), Dr. J (Julius Irving) and Magic (Ervin Johnson).

Hollywood Henderson......now there is a blast from the past. I still blame his for the loss to the Steelers for running of his mouth before the game say Bradshaw was so stupid he couldn't spell CAT if you gave him the C and T! Plus the bad PI call.

And then there was Jackie Smith in the endzone! All of this and we only lost by 4!!!

Given names as well as nicknames are welcome.

Seems there was a contest in the early 1980's to give Joe Montana a nickname.

Best comment was that he already had one and needed a real name.

Speaking of football players, I remember Frenchy Fuqua. He played for the Steelers in the early 1970s and was involved in the Immaculate Reception play. He was very flamboyant, including wearing a cape and wearing custom made shoes with tall heels made out of clear plexiglass. The plexiglass heels were not solid. They were hollow and filled with water. In each water filled heel was a goldfish swimming around.

Who on the Sports Forums remember Frenchy and his goldfish shoes?

Don't remember Frenchy but I was a dinner table away from Franco Harris and Lynn Swann in Vegas, late 70's.

The shoes were called perpetual heels, big in Detroit during that era. never saw goldfish though.

As a young lad Dallas fan, I was infatuated with him being touted as the fastest man alive.

    Cool papa Bell.

When the word cool is actually part of the nickname, I believe we have a winner.
