Hello all,
Does anyone know if “Specimen” is the same as “Proof” when it comes to the 1893 Bolivia 5 centavos?
I see this coin with a PF designation:
But when one uses the cert verification tool, it shows up as “SP”
https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/2750289-045/66/
There has also been a version sold on Heritage that had “SP” on the label:

Finally the NGC page only lists a normal and a proof version (no specimen):

Contact NGC DIRECTLY a few days AFTER you copy this post and send it to their Email! Give them a few days to look into it before you call. The day you call, sent this to them again so they cannot say they did not receive it.
That may be a good idea.
I would still like to see if anyone here knows if there are two or three versions of the coin (normal business strike and at least one of proof and specimen).
It sure looks like someone besides you and I may be confused.
On occasion, a TPGS will change what they call a coin after they examine and slab the first one ever.
Cool !!!
Here are a few more pictures while we wait for more info (I emailed NGC and will update with any info provided).
