Is Topps Total (baseball) a higher level than the base Topps?

I won an auction for an Ishii for one of his RC's from Topps Total and the bid went higher than I really care to spend since I have yet to see any boxes or even hear of the product for that matter. I was just wondering if anyone here knew anything about these cards as far as whether they were a step up from the base Topps set or a similar kind of deal to Upper Deck MVP, UD Choice, or Collectors choice and actually a step down from the base set. Any help is appreciated.

    From what I've heard about Topps Total is that it is a 990 card set, with no gu'ed or inserts. You can find boxes on ebay. I know nohing else about the product or what it looks like.

    kinda both in mho....a big set so any one card is hard to get....but no real inserts or gu (some low level inserts are in there like 1/6 to 1/12 pack type of stuff)....id say the ishi should be around the 1 to 1.5 x the reg topps ishi

    Thanks for the help on this...I hate it when they sneak a product out that I've never heard of...
