1948 Leaf Baseball box and wrapper--REA auction--WOW

I know a lot of the folks on this board are unopened pack and box collectors as am I. I also collect empty wax boxes and wrappers so I was following this lot (along with many other lots in the REA auction). Lots of great empty boxes. I would have loved to get this 1948 Leaf box and wrapper, but wow, the price skyrocketed and closed at $27,000. Well over what I could afford. That must be some type of record for an empty wax box.
