I love how the Kobe haters give Kobe absolutely 0% credit...

You people bore me! You all act like Kobe was just a bench player the whole playoffs and Finals. What did Kobe average in the Finals? 27+ PPG, 6 Assists per game, 5 reb per game...and he had 8 assists in the Final game to for the championship. If THAT'S not contributing to the team, then I guess some of you people are blind. Kobe is a 23 year old Phenom. He's putting up numbers and is showing signs of greatness already...and he's not even in his PRIME yet! I've already admitted that if it weren't for Shaq, then there wouldn't be any championships...yet, if there were no KOBE, there weren't be any as well. It was Game 1 and 2 all Shaq...and Game 3 and 4, Kobe made the clutch baskets when it counted the most. How about in Game 3 when Kobe dominated the entire 4th quarter and guided the Lakers to that win? He still gets bashed. How about in Game 4...8 assists, and again, makes clutch baskets when they need them the most. I don't see why you people can't just give the guy credit.

I wish half of you Kobe haters would have watched ESPN after the game as they were talking about the post-game...Kobe got lots of love from Jack Ramsay, and MANY other NBA writers for his greatness. With just Shaq = no championships...with just Kobe = no championships...with Kobe and Shaq = A dynasty and many championships.

  • Just like we hate when Kobe fans give Kobe ALL the credit. Horry hit the winning shot, "but Kobe passed it to him". What kind of junk is that?

  • Derrick you sound like the imature Kobe lover that plagues this board, Airhead08. Posts like this only hurt your image. Grow up and stop defending Kobe like he's your lover. We all know Kobe is good. Propaganda posts like this make you look bad.

Well said Derrick. Shaq had no titles before Kobe.

Autobilia- Kobe breaks down the other team. He is one of the main reasons that others get the shots they do. Horry can't create anything on his own.

  • Is it that " kobe haters" give kobe no respect... or that "kobe lovers" give him to much??
  • BUT HE WILL NEVER WIN A MVP WITH SHAQ ON HIS TEAM. MJ WOULDNT EVEN BE ABLE TO WIN MVP!

  • I think it's that Kobe Lovers have nothing better to do. Kobe Lover says " If only my posters could talk. "

I agree with you Richy. Kobe is great but with Shaq on his team he won't win MVP. Unless a good center comes up soon that can defend Shaq. It was almost as if Shaq went unguarded the whole series.

EXACTLY and I mean EXACTLY what I was gonna say. I'm not a "Kobe Hater" because of course I am a Lakers fan! But I also don't like how all the Kobe lovers give absolutly ALL the credit and give none to Shaq. Could Kobe win without Shaq? I dunno. Could Shaq win without Kobe? Quite possibly! But it isn't gonna happen anytime soon (one going away).

"Shaq win without Kobe? Quite possibly! " He had his chance and he couldn't do it. He even had Penny on his team then and couldn't do it. I don't think he could do it by himself. He would have to have at least one more good player on his team to win.

  • Shaq couldn't do it because he was young and Hakeem "The Dream" embarrassed him. Hakeem was a much better center then Shaq was in 95'.
The Shaq of 95' couldn't win championships with the Kobe of now. Shaq is a different player today. Think people. That was 7 years ago that he lost to the Rockets. He's a much much better player now. Without a doubt the Shaq of today could win a championship with just about any team.

I agree totaly. Shaq today is the most dominant center in the game and maybe all time. What I hope is in two yeah when Kobe contract comes up, he signs with the guy that "found" him..Jerry West and the Memphis Grizzlies. If he goes there he will probably be doing like Tmac, Carter, and Iverson.

Lo,, You do know that Horry is a former all star, That has been on the top 50 players in the league list almost every year through out his career..And he also had championship rings BEFORE he cam to LA to play with Shaq and Kobe don't ya'?...I'd dare to say he can/could create plays..When Kobe gives up the ball that is..

Ok, first off all, why are you comparing me with airkobe08? I represent my facts in a mature manner and manners unlike others who like to use CAPS and raise a bunch of hell about it. I don't ride his jock...I am a Kobe "fan", and not a Kobe lover...and for your information...I've been making posts like this for quite a long time...but you wouldn't know, because you haven't been here as long as I have. I already have the respect from other members because I like having arguments in an adult manner. Don't sit there and compare me with someone when your barely a member. If you don't like what I say...then bite me.

  • shaq was mvp, but kobe was the king of the crunch in this playoff run baby!! Hakeem would still give more of a challenge than a poor todd mac people. COME ON NOW

    KING OF THE CLUTCH= KOBE

Fisher was king in the Crunch on Wednesday. Derek Fisher, who finished with seven Nestlé Crunch Time Points, nailed a 15-foot baseline jumper with 1:57 left to help seal a 113-107 win over the Nets. But when it came to the postseason king of the Crunch, the Lakers were reliant on Bryant. Kobe amassed a cool 100 Nestlé Crunch Time Points for NBA Playoffs 2002 as L.A. won its third straight championship.

Oh, I see how it is...you can't back me up Taker? I'm SUCH an immature and horrible person...Yeah...ok. UofaWildCatfan...another thing...I wasn't saying it was you who wasn't giving him any credit...but most people act like he doesn't contribute WHATSOEVER and they give him NO positive insight at all...and that's what's lame...but, just don't be attacking me like that when you don't even know me, and your barely a member of this site...An image has nothing to do with it...I could care less. Everyone knows that I'm respected, and that I give respect and respect other people's opinions...just don't be comparing me with someone who's TOTALLY out of control...which I'm far from that low level...I'd appreciate it.

  • LMAO when kobe gives up the ball? Kobe took 15 shots in game 1 in the finals= 24 points
    16 shots in game 2 = 24 points
    23 shots in game 3= 36 points
    back to 16 shots = 25 points.

Kobe wasn't even taking his normal shot attempts........He wasn't even looking for his shot and he still avg a cool 26 ppg. It's pathetic you people don't realize anybody playing behind shaq would never win a mvp or win a scoring title idiot.

It's more pathetic that you hide the facts about iverson taking 102 more shots than kobe playing 20 less games. Give kobe as many shots as jordan and iverson get and you have THE NEW SCORING CHAMP PERIOD.

laker fans, undertaker........don't let these haters ruin a good thing.....They are going to hate on kobe and shaq until they day the die. This is a matter of what 10 people or so on this board that hates? Everybody hates winners for some reason so they cheer losers like iverson.

it's more pathetic that you people keep bringing this shiz up....what's the point in arguing for someone who you will never meet nor will you ever talk to? These are sports stars, nothing more, nothing less, who really cares if someone doesn't like them? If someone went on the board trashing akili smith, reuben droughns, chad johnson, etc, I wouldn't really care....so why do you people?
  • THIS IS LAKER DAY!!!!!!!! UNDERTAKER SHOW SOME LOVE FOR KOBE MAN........SHAQ IS THE MAN OK? DON'T RUIN A d@mn GOOD DAY FOR THESE HATERS MAN..... NOBODY LET THESE HATERS RUIN LAKER DAY BABY!!!!!!!! THEY HATE NO MATTER WHAT Kobe avg like 19 shots ,avg 50% from the field, got his 6 assists pergame 6 rebs and avg 26 ppg and they still hate..........I mean it's pointless shaq did his job vs the most talented center in the league todd mac ok? Leave it at that

Kobe was been in the league since 96/97 and was in he league for 4 years before going to the finals... Penny was in the league for 1 or 2 years and Shaq was NO WHERE NEAR as dominant.

    Just a stat:
Mac and Collins combined fouls: 47
    Shaq's fouls: 7

Kobe is replaceable, Shaq is not...

    without shaq = no rings

    without kobe = rings

btw, this is MY opinion... so don't get your panties twisted Laker fans...

  • I am not a Basketball fan but here is my opinion

without Shaq, maybe winn a championbship but not easily
without Kobe, could win a championship

without Phil Jackson.........zero championships. He is the king of putting talent together to work as a team. Kober and Shaq played together before Jackson and didn't win. Just my 2 cents. Can't wait to see what people say about this one.

AI3TheAnswer after reading your response I was swept to the floor with laughter. Those rings weren't because of him. They were all the dream. He didn't create any of those shots. He just stood in the corner and waited until Hakeem got double teamed then shot the ball. All he did was stand there. As I said he can't create his own shot! He can't go down the lane consistantly and score. He doesn't have any high quality post moves. He doesn't have good speed or the greatest moves. He just has happened to have three guys on his teams that get alot of attention.

  • Guys...Shaq was young when he was with Orlando and he faced Hakeem in his prime. Shaq has matured over the years and has become one of the most dominating players ever. The only guy that came even close to slowing Shaq down was Divac (Mr.Floppy) I know there are alot of Kobe lovers but come on...Shaq dominated this year...even hit his free throws which were the guys only weakness. What's next... 3 pointers for Shaq? Kobe is like what Pippen was to Jordan...he's Shaq's wing man but he is not the leader of the team....this is Shaq's team.
