78 Box Rip....Hello Eddie!!

Just bought a 78 Topps box from BBCE and shared packs with my friend Tom. We had a draft for the packs, was lot of fun. Packs were air tight and cards have been nice so far.

So......Look what I found in pack 2......Any guesses for grade?

Very nice! I think you have a good shot at a 9 depending on surface gloss and color.

I don't think you have a chance at a 9 with that t/b centering. More likely 8NQ instead of a 9OC. Can't see the back of the card though. Potential other issues to examine in-hand: Upper left corner looks like it has some extra hanging cardboard. Maybe a print defect in the red border coloring near the upper right corner?

PSA prefers 78s centered higher like that one. I've submitted hundreds of 78s and have come to realize that over time. If that card doesn't grade PSA 9, it won't be due to centering.

I think color and registration is probably the biggest issue here.

    EDDIE!!

Sweet pull. From the pic I like it as a 9 as well.

Always looking for tougher PSA 10's of Nolan Arenado, Alex Bregman, Mookie Betts, Francisco Lindor, and Mike Trout.

Top left corner has tiny extra cardboard.....slight print defect top right side......back is more than fine...

My take is worst case 8-8.5....lucky day a 9. Either way an exciting pull and 8 packs to go. My friend Tom ripped all of his and had no Molly....so there is hope.

I think it's a solid 8, maybe an 8.5. The top 2 corners and t-b centering are very likely enough to cap it at an 8.5, unless the scan's just not doing the card justice.

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
