This is a nice contemporary counterfeit 1916 Buffalo nickel, known to collectors. There are 3 main diagnostics:

-Missing designer's initial.
-Die crack through the middle feather from the rim.
-'Skinny' buffalo. The buffalo's belly does not 'hang' like on a genuine coin- it goes straight across.
