Anyone here ever have a card damaged by PSA?

If so, what was the outcome?

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Had one where under 60x magnification you can see the holder indented/chipped the top edge of the card. Sent back to them for a review and they determined no issue and card was reslabbed, same grade (PSA 10) remained unchanged. I posted detailed pics in another thread on here.

Another card where the edge clearly dented from impact because it was sliding around in the holder. PSA mods here deleted my thread and asked me if I had an issue to send them the card in for review. I chose not to as the edge dent isn’t too visible unless it’s at a certain angle and under magnification. It was a very low pop card I purchased and didn’t want to risk having them drop the grade. It’s a PC item so I’ll live with it. But I advised them that thin cards slide from side to side too much and are easily damaged and those kind of cards need to be in a Mylar type holder. They seemed to shrug it off unless I was willing to send it in. Oh well.

Back when Tracy McGrady rookies were near their peak I subbed a 97-98 SP Authentic Future Watch RC that I thought had a real shot of at least a 9 and it came back a PSA 4 with an inch long impression right in the center of the card. His SP rcs were notorious for horrible centering and this was one was near perfect so i used a 2 day turnaround. After talking with CS they had me send the card back and eventually they reimbursed me market value for what Mint 9's were selling at the time, roughly $450, and sent me a bunch of free grading vouchers. I was never told or asked what happen but in the end I bought another great looking PSA 9 SP rc,had some money left over and had the vouchers so I was pretty happy with the outcome. There are no PSA 4's in the Pop report so who knows where it ended up.

I think there are a couple other relatively recent threads title with this same topic, and should have a few more answers to your question too.

ETA: Here is a link to another thread discussing this:

I was told they couldn't possibly have done the damage to the card after I sent it back and it was reviewed by their head grader. It was the second time they damaged a fairly high dollar card - first time was a Bird/Magic RC, second time was a 2000 playoff contenders Brady auto - in the exact same way. I no longer have PSA membership and any cards I sub are with other people.
