5 day listing or a week listing. What's generally better?

I'm inclined to think that a 7 day eBay listing is better than a 5 day listing but is that necessarily the case? Thoughts?

I hate 10 day listings as both a buyer and a seller. As a buyer I have to wait too long for something I want to end soon. As a seller it seems like all the action is at the end of the auction anyhow and during that time frame someone else can list a similar item and undercut me. I used to only do 5 day auctions but do 7 day now just due to time constraints.
To sum up what others have said here, if your item is unique and there is basically no potential that someone else would list a similar item (regardless of condition/grade), then 10-day is a good choice for maximum exposure time.
If there could be others similar out there, then the opposite is true and 5 or 7-day is a smarter option due to the undercut point made above. When you list your item(s), I assume you first check the auctions running from other sellers to see if there's one like it already out there? In that case it is of course advantageous to start yours for a little less then what is posted so far; others will subsequently price theirs based on yours too.
The two biggest times your item will see views is the day it's listed and the day the listing ends. The in between time, you will probably see very few new views and I consider it a dead time. So I prefer the five day to shrink that dead time.
