Why some ebay auctions give the number of watchers of the auction and some omit it completely?

No, I don't know.

Does anybody really know, and more importantly, does anybody really care?

If so, I can't imagine why.

Well, one could argue its a significant gage and measurement of an items popularity and can lead one into bidding appropriately.... certainly not an end all but worth some attention. Its frustrating the inconsistencies that still persist within the Ebay platform.

You should be able to see the number of watchers here,the number will be highlighted in yellow on the right
