1970 Kellogg's 3D Football Question

DoctorKDoctorK Posts: 868 ✭✭✭

I have a set of these that were stored away since purchase by the original owner. Most have a curl to them, similar to that of a cards from vending. Otherwise, they are nice, sharp, clean cards. Will this curl have any/much of an impact on grading?

Thank you.

They probably won't grade them unless they fit into a top loader. PSA doesn't want to take a chance on cracking them if they bend them.

you should have no problem slipping them slowly into a top loader

They will go into a top loader fine. They are not rigid and somewhat flexible. Curious if the curl will impact the grade.

I've got a handful of them that I have owned since 1970. There is no way to stop the curl except placing them in semi-rigid or rigid holders. So having said that all cards submitted for grading have had the curl when submitted.

@dennis07 Good deal. I will take care of that today. I appreciate everyone's response.

The curl didn't harm a thing. I was too embarrassed to add #31 Leroy Kelly PSA 8 in the group shot

    Wow! Nice sub. Congrats.

  • Sometimes they crack in PSA cases (I have a PSA 10 that is cracked). An interesting question is whether these cards are all doomed to crack/deteriorate, or if after ~50 years they are done curling, cracking, or otherwise further deterioating
