1983s US Proof set error

Namvet69Namvet69 Posts: 9,015 ✭✭✭✭✭

The Lincoln cent has a cracked planchet error on the obverse that runs from the right shoulder at the engravers initials through the date to the rim. This is a mint sealed set. What should I do next? Peace Roy

That looks like a very large bubble in the plating. Very neat but probably not worth much. If it were offered to me I would give $10 as a teaching aid. Notice all the other tiny bubbles on the coin. Actually $30 as it is a proof...LOL. But I pay stupid prices for things I can use in class. :)

Image is not as sharp as it should be. It is definitely a thin ridge and not a bubble. I shall post a proper image tomorrow. Thx for your thoughts. Peace Roy

Good afternoon all, I have two much better images of a distinct raised crack in the obverse of the cent. Reverse does not show any damage and this is a 1983 proof set. I am not finding any similar info on the web to gauge value. Input is appreciated. Peace Roy

Still looks like a split in the plating.
