Battlefield0516 Auctions

I'm sure many of you remember Battlefield0516 on eBay. After receiving a lot of negative feedbacks she started selling under another name. That name no longer sells on eBay. It seems that she is now selling her photoshopped and trimmed cards through a new auction house. It is http://www.candimanauctions.com/ There is a thread on Net54 about him/her. http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=247588 Start at post 101 to read about this new auction house. Anyone considering bidding, do so at your own risk. By selling here there are no returns. Just thought I would make you guys aware.

I got the following message on ebay from them:

New message from: battlefield0516 (19,976YellowShooting Star)
    Hi Ryan,

I wanted to reach out to you since you have been one of our many great customers over our years of selling on eBay. We have decided to close our eBay store for good and we have consigned a large part of our inventory to a local auction house. The name of the auction house is Candiman Auctions (www.candimanauctions.com). Their March 2018 auction just opened for bidding and features many items that we have consigned to them. I thought you might be interested since you have purchased some of our items in the past. If you get a chance please take a look at their auctions. They have some great stuff up for auction right now.

    Thanks,

    Carol

Looks like they made enough money scamming people on eBay that they were able to start their own auction house.

Oh wait, they're just consigning to this brand new auction house that just happened to open up right after they decided to stop doing business on eBay. :*

I have tried calling the Candiman auction house by phone at 334-790-2145 at least 5 times on 5 different days during the hours of 8am to 5pm CST and I have not had one time that a person picked up the phone. It rings and rings then goes to voice mail. I also sent an email 1 week ago asking about information about the cards since so many of the higher dollar cards have been noted to be short and would be deemed altered by a third party grading according to the auction site. I asked what kind of guarantee came with the other high dollar cards that they were not noted as altered or trimmed. Specifically I asked about the 55 Topps Clemente, 34 Diamond stars Greenberg, 38 Goudey Foxx, 52 Topps Jackie Robinson and a couple of others. Lastly I asked about Daniel and Justin themselves and there experience in the hobby. Needless to say, I have NOT gotten any response. I have NEVER had an auction company not answer their phone or an email that I have sent them. I would bid with extreme caution. Has anyone talked to Auction Report about them?

    trapperlad,

When they were selling on eBay they were known for not answering emails. They are/were experts at photoshopping the scans to remove any blemishes and making the corners look better. I would bet that battlefield0516 either owns or helped start the auction house. It's not a coincidence that the very first auction by this new auction house is battlefield's cards. There is a good possibility that this is the only auction that this company will do. Once battlefield unloads all of their cards the auction house will disappear. At least when they were selling on eBay the buy could return the over graded cards. The only recourse you would have here is maybe a credit card dispute.

So I guess I have a different take. These buyers are pretty much all buying out of greed. Graded copies of these cards exist but they "think" they have found a diamond in the rough by buying ungraded, over-hyped cards. Anyone buying from this auction gets exactly what they deserve. These sellers would have no options if buyers weren't complicit.

The posts asking that the auction house guarantee returns based on PSA grading of the raw cards are ridiculous. There is risk buying ungraded cards and buyers accept that risk. If a buyer is not willing to accept it then they shouldn't bid.

So the auction house is owned by battlefield’s sons, who have disavowed the way their parents ran eBay auctions and to prove it they aren’t going to get any of these high value cards graded before the auction? Seems legit. Or just an extension of the way they’ve done business for years. Do the sons even exist?

If you count the various Battlefield threads on 54 there are a lot more than that :) As long as you put your name in your post on 54 there is a lot more you can say there than on some boards. And there are some folks there who enjoy an argument, or two....

The thread over at net54 is beyond comical. Makes me think some buyers have so much money they can't help themselves get screwed. It can't be more obvious these guys are crooks (battlefield), just by the fact they evade every question regarding who their parents are, provenance of the listings, when they started the business, etc. This is going to have a bad ending.

    Collecting PSA 9's from 1970-1977. Raw 9's from 72-77. Raw 10's from '78-'83.
Collecting Unopened from '72-'83; mostly BBCE certified boxes/cases/racks.
    Prefer to buy in bulk.

Are we sure that these two sons exist? Wouldn’t surprise me.
