Is including a Minimum Grade the kiss of death?

If you designate on the form that the minimum grade you'll accept is "X" is that the kiss of death that you will receive THAT grade and none higher? The three times I have put a minimum grade on a form, that is the grade I have received. Have talked with others and they had the same experience. I have to believe that wouldn't be a good business practice. Probably just a coincidence in our cases. What about yours?

Just coincidence. i doubt the grader even knows. Basically they grade it, and it isn't even a consideration until it comes time to slab it.

I've only done it on crossovers in the holder when I'd rather have a card remain a BGS 9.5 than become a PSA 9. I don't understand why anyone would do it with raw.
