Babe Ruth Hounus Wagner Shoeless Joe Jackson Postcards are they real ? PSA said no specific info

I bought these postcards 10 years ago from an 86 year old man. He said he had them since he was a kid and some where his dads. I asked him at the time if they were real and he said if they were fake they were faked in the same years because he had them for 80 plus years. Can anyone give me some info on these?

Yeah, at first glance they look like bad fakes. The photo quality is pretty poor. Did you date the backs?

  • No but I checked earlier post that I ask about 10 years ago and they said the backs don't match the fronts so I guess they are not real !

What does that mean -- the backs don't match the fronts?

Some of those pics/players are from less than 80 years ago, so there is a clue right there that his story has some holes in it.

  • Look like poorly made "fantasy" pieces. Probably made in the late 1970s or 1980s based on the way they look.

Based on your story, and some of the comments, could be some are fake and some are real?

Over the years, the old guy could have mixed in various cards, and was confused about what he had.

  • Arthur Some of the backs are from 1909 1910 but the plyers pics are from the 20 and 30s.

I would see if you could peel any of them back or maybe even soak one. It's tough to tell without them being in-hand with a 10x but they almost look like semi-modern prints glued to PCs and then trimmed around the edges with scissors.
