My first grading submission

I bought this card 15 years ago and have always thought it would be a great card to get graded. Just got it back in the mail today. It graded what I thought it should so I'm happy. Now only 350 more 1959's left to get graded to have all my first '59 set graded. I have been buying 1959 Topps since the mid 80's and currently have only a handful of cards that I would grade lower than EX-MT. The graded cards I have to date average 6.82. It would be nice to have a NM set to leave my sons. I actually have 2 complete '59 sets although my second set would be a mid grade. I've got 200 cards ready to be graded, but I'm waiting to see what the monthly specials will be to get the most bang for my buck.

You may as well use the bulk submission as "specials" seem to be a thing of the past. Love the '59's, my favorite set!! I have a "7" Gibson but yours has better centering. I do have a "7" Mantle that is nicely centered.

Great centering and very sharp. A thing of beauty when one sees that soecific card centered, or close to it.

Bob Gibson ...the legend. Just like you will be to your sons for passing along your passion to them so thoughtfully. Cheers!

My Mantle is a 7, but isn't centered as well.

The specials the last 2 months have been for pre 1956 and only save 50 cents over bulk submissions, but on 200 cards thats $100 dollars and being a retired school teacher $100 matters. :)

That is a mere crumb to Pelosi... xD

I'd love to see a post 56 special at that rate!

    Welcome aboard!!!

Nice looking Gibson and the Mantle is not so bad either aside from the centering.

Good luck with you sub and completing this set.

    Hi and welcome!

That's a great looking Gibson with nice centering.

Never not (ya gotta love the double negative!) love a Mantle card - no matter what the centering.

Thanx for sharing and good luck with your subs.

Also, what's your first name - would like to add it to the forum list.

<<< It graded what I thought it should so I'm happy. >>>

That's good to hear. On my first submission, i was unfortunately around 2 to 4 grades too high on what I thought the cards should have graded, which is a common misjudgment that newbies make on their first PSA submission.

Good luck with the other cards! :)

  • Beautiful card...........my second favorite rookie card behind the 62 Brock. Any yes, I am a big Cardinals fan!
