I would like the opinion from the board on this Clemente RC with a wrong back. Is this a legit card? Is the case frosted or has it been tampered? I haven't dealt with much SGC so cannot tell.

PSA doesn't grade wrong backs, right?

I would think that SGC would have labeled it as a wrong back. The slab does look suspicious.

I have a blank back Andre labeled as blank back. Think they would do the same here.

    Slab looks very frosty.

I can't tell if the card is fake or not to be honest. I think based on the (wrong back) not being on the label and the frosting on the case, it is suspect to say the least. Any other insight is welcome'd.

  • SGC would have definitely noted a wrong back on the holder, unless it was a "mechanical" error on their part.

The back of the card looks fine, but the perfectly centered Clemente front is a reason for concern. Possibly a counterfeit front attached to a legit back. Definitely a lot of reasons to be cautious with that card.

I'd ask the seller to send it back to SGC to have it labeled as a wrong back before purchasing.

  • If that card is authentic then I would guess you have a 1 of 1 here... been doing 55s for over 25 years and have never seen this one... If it is legit then u needa go buy a powerball ticket also

I think I get the "subtle" hint here. Sadly looks like the seller tried to scam by selling it. I am pretty sure the holder is resealed in some way but not going to try and break it open to prove that at this time.

It would be labeled wrong back if it is.
