Card thickness question

Can someone explain to me what does 25pts, 130pts, 180pts etc means and how do you measure to get those numbers? My second question is if let's say someone is selling a card, and they say it's a 120pt card thickness, I would like to know how many regular thin cards is equivalent to make up 120pts? Is there a chart I can refer to? Thanks
