Griffey Autographs - Authentic?
Back when I was a teen in the late 1990's I purchased a number of Ken Griffey Jr autographed items. I am assuming they are fake (some i know are fake). Thought I would run them past the group here. I have not recently purchased and I don't plan to purchase any future autographs. This whole ordeal has made me pretty sour to the signed memorabilia game..
What I am looking for here is more of feedback on the source I purchased these from. That will more than likely confirm my suspicion.
I have a batting helmet and cap which were purchased from the now notorious Stan's Sports Memorabilia. Hey Donna Fizgerald, I want my $156 back!! Well, something for the kids to play with at least. I attached the pics of the items for other's reference of fakes.
I also have a signed 8x10 purchased through Chattanooga Coin and Sports cards on 12/30/96. The certificate of authenticity is through Harmon Sports Memorabilia and Cards out of Wenham, MA. Looks like they may still be around, maybe it is real?
I also have a signed baseball purchased at E.B. Sports Wholesale, Inc. / Sports Korner out of Sylvania, OH on 11/3/1994. Not sure on this one. Some guy named Joe probably signed this one up...
Lastly I have a signed bat purchased at Athlon Sports 5/11/97. The COA is from Score Board, Inc. I hope this is real. Most expensive of the bunch.
