Got me reading these for fun. Amazing to see young Mick heading to the mines after the WS.

    Interesting stuff Andy.

    I'm guessing that didn't have to last long.

    I always found it interesting how many professionals - BB and FB had winter jobs - many/most probably on the mundane side like selling insurance.

    Today one can have a below .500 pitching record and be making millions.

    Great post!!! Pretty cool to read the articles from his early years. A different world back then for our star athletes.

    In NYC, many of the baseball players rode the subway to work and talked with the people. I'm sure you see that every day today?
