Overall looks to be in the 40-45 grade range. While the coin looks okay, there are some rim issues - most notably between 5 and 6 on the reverse which also shows on the obverse. This could preclude a straight grade. A s for value, I would estimate a range of $450 to $475 perhaps slightly more

Thank you both very much for comments! I was told that yes because of the rim issue the coin was worth $175 tops. If that was the case back in the drawer

Decent coin, front is rather nicer than the back, IMHO.
Perhaps ex-jewelry?

Gold content is 0.2462 Troy ounce of pure gold, so melt alone is $327. The piece is worth something more than that, coinkat may have approximated it.
If someone told you it was worth only $175, far less than melt, you now know someone to avoid in the future.
It is worth keeping... $175 does not pass the straight face test
