Shrinkwrapping your wax boxes and sets

For those of you who shrink wrap your wax boxes and sets, what wrapping material gauge and size (dimensions) do you use?

    Hiya Brian

I use cheap stuff that came with a shrink wrap kit that I picked up on eBay for around 50 bucks.

The gauge ranges from around 60 to 100 - higher number is thicker - and it does contain PVC.

So, since I have some games wrapped with it? In 50 years, there may be damage. So, before I die? I'll rip it off.

There is a newer material - Polyolefin - more expensive - but I'm guessing safer with paper materials.

I believe it's more popular (and has replaced PVC film) as a chosen material and worth looking into IMO.

When I go to guy more wrap and a larger sealing machine - that's what I'll buy for big games that I want to wrap.

The sealer I have right now is no more than 10 inches long and you can buy sealers close to 2 feet. Obviously, the bigger the sealer, the larger the item you can shrink wrap.

I personally don't see a need to shrink wrap boxes unless they are so damaged that they can't hold their shape otherwise. For nice boxes, I use polyethylene (no PVC) magazine sized comic bags for basic protection, and I have never had a problem.
