Update to the story

Update:
This started when I saw my first neg after selling on ebay for 20 years. The sale happened during Thanksgiving so I was surprised to see feedback about non-delivery so late. I sent him a note that the USPS tracking showed it had been delivered on 11/25. He still insists he never received it and is very dramatic about it. He then sent me a message that tracking shows it never got to his address, he referenced a city that wasn't on the Paypal payment he sent me. At this point I'm thinking he is going to file a claim with ebay, I sent him all the details of the purchase to show him that the tracking shows it is delivered. I even told him he should be able to verify on his My Ebay page. He replies back that he did and it shows that the card wasn't delivered. So I ask him for the tracking number he is referring to. I look it up and it shows that the item was shipped on Jan 2 from FLORIDA and has not been delivered yet since he moved and the package is in the mail forward process at the USPS.

I then replied that he neg'd the wrong seller, I sold him a card at Thanksgiving from CALIFORNIA. At this point silence. I sent him a request to change the feedback, after a few days he did.

So I wondered if I overreacted. Maybe a little, but he are the facts:

  • He neg'd first before contacting me.
  • He neg'd the wrong seller.
  • Based on his feedback I don't think he buys that much. He should have been able to see that I card I sent him was already delivered 6 weeks ago.
  • I had to spend time correcting his mistake,
  • He was going to neg a seller who sold him a card the week before and was stuck at the USPS because the buyer moved and had a mail forward order in at the USPS.

You're call on what you want to do.

Mike
