I remember seeing this article a month or two ago, and actually forgot about it. Has there been any updates on this that anyone has heard? I can’t really see a franchise picking him up, but I’m by no means an expert lol.
Palmeiro put out a tweet yesterday with video of himself in the batting cage.

Why did I never realize how nice his mechanics are?

There was talk back then on MLB Network about the O's giving him a shot but I haven't heard any updates either.
Someone wake up Julio Franco!
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
And you know if Julio gets back in, Rickey is for sure going to get out there!
I haven't taken PEDs at 53. PERIOD.
Between playing part time at first base,DH-ing and maybe pinch hitting its possible but i'd guess that he would probably lead MLB in drug tests if he played.
I saw this story and immediately thought of Bernie Mac's character in the movie Mr 3000

I remember Jim Palmer's comeback attempt. Failed.
I don't see why he can't make it back to the big leagues. Doesn't anyone need a 1st base coach?

Zero chance.
If he made it to the big leagues even if it was a promotional stunt wouldn't that reset his HOF timeline?
Im 99.99% sure that if he made an official entry into a game his HOF timeline would then reset to whatever his new last day of participation ended up as.
Always looking for tougher PSA 10's of Nolan Arenado, Alex Bregman, Mookie Betts, Francisco Lindor, and Mike Trout.
Yes
So do I
I actually caught for him during his bullpen workouts at the University of Miami. He was only throwing 86-87 mph which I don't think was very encouraging for him. Too bad I was not smart enough to get him to sign some stuff!

Minnie Minoso.
"Kid, with mechanics like that, you'll never make the Hall of Fame..."
As others have stated above, yes. Here is the last paragraph from that article:
And, honestly, what does Palmeiro really have to lose? The best case scenario is that he makes a roster, reminds everyone he's an incredible talent, and gets to walk away from the game on his own terms while also resetting his Hall of Fame eligibility. (He dropped off the ballot in 2014.)
As soon as I read it the first thing I thought about was that is the main reason for his comeback attempt. Maybe he has seen how the other PED users are getting more votes for the HOF and he thinks he may have a chance.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
