Could be my first nice find! 1911 T-205 Ed Konetchy, Grade?

Picked this up for $45 earlier today. Even if I paid too much for it I was just so excited to have finally found a 1911 baseball card. Looking online I feel it would grade at around a PSA 4.5-5.5? The back isn't greatly centered. The corners are relatively good for being 100+ years old. I may get this graded as well! Thoughts?

I think the paper loss puts it lower than a 4. I'm not familiar with this issue so I'll let others be more specific.
This is why I thought it could be a five. Mines gotta be somewhere around this no?

It could end up a miscut as the back is pretty bad. Not familiar with this issue but I would surprised if it received higher than a 3.
I was thinking 2-3 with the possibility of a ST qualifier on the back right side?
Nice pickup!
It all comes down to how the grader views the lower left corner on the front. If it's considered paper loss I think that caps it at a 1.5 (maybe 2?), otherwise I'd expect this card to grade a 3. The miscut (MC) qualifier is narrowly avoided since I don't see a trace of another card on the back and at the 3 or lower grade level I don't see a stain (ST) qualifier either.
I think the PSA 5 linked was a generous grade for that condition and expectations set that high will lead to disappointment.
A 2 at best
Glad you like the card. That's what collecting is all about.
However, I think you should save your money and put the card in a CS1 and forget about sending in to PSA. At best, I think your card gets graded a "3" (VCP $39.00). Unlike the card that you referenced, I think PSA would deem that your card has paper loss, thus knocking it down to a "2", which has a VCP of $23.00.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Definitely not a 5. 3 max. The one you found on eBay has an older flip and wouldn't grade 5 today, and is slightly better than yours. I have a feeling they'll deem the corner wear as paper loss also.
Can someone explain to me these grades? Are they all in older holders or what? i am very confused mine is way better than these... I am trying to understand!

The only card that is in a new holder is the Phillippe, others were graded a few years ago.
I don't feel like any of the cards are necessarily over graded (including the '5') but they are all at their max grade IMO.
'6's have been cracked and sent back in for '8's as well as '4's if you wee unfamiliar with the consistence over the years.
I personally think your card is a '3' at best - not due entirely to the chipping at the corner, but for the crease around the 'AL' down to the hat.
Theres no crease between the al. Its like a printing flaw? No crease though. Howver, i took it to a card and the guys thought it may be fake due to sharp corners and printing dots. Does this look fake to you guys? For the meantime Im not having to graded, im buying a uv protected acid free screw down holder for it.
Probably be deemed as paper loss on lower left corner which puts it at 2
fun card to have though

I collect this set it the 2 to 5 grade. From what I am seeing this looks no better than a 3. PSa A won't look at this as papae loss, but chipping of the gold leaf which would be normal for the grade. Enjoy the card and let the obsession with the set begin.
3mc, the cut is off centered so the border on the reverse is missing. Although ano ther card is not showing, this still can lead to the MC qualifier. Still sharp in the from as even psa 3s are tough with chipping in this issue.
Okay well maybe I won't grade it but if I ever come across someone doing a bulk deal I will probably throw it in. If I just sent this in by myself it way be way too much. However, what is the best protection I can buy for this cards? I am getting one of these, http://www.bcwsupplies.com/pro-mold-screwdown-cigarette-card-holder They just sit in the holder with no sleeve?
Also, how bad is it to handle these cards bare handed? I noticed one guy at the card shop had his finger on the front side after it was taken out of the plastic sleeve. I know this is a HUGE no no with coins. What about cards?
Handle it as you wish. It is the best way to learn about if a card is genuine. Feel how the gold border feels different from the portrait. You won't hsrm the card in that condition from handling it. Enjoy it
Thanks! Really do appreciate all the help, as for the tobacco card holder, are they good? I like how they are UV protected.
Anyone think this may be fake? Took i to another card shop and they were hesistant to say whther it was real and said it looked too good...?
My guess is that card shop doesn't deal in "really old" card.

Absolutely authentic. I don't think it would be wise to listen to those card shop's opinions on older cards if they gave you that feedback.
I have handled thousands of T205s and grading is all over the place and tough to determine by just looking at the corner wear (overall eye appeal usually determines the final grade). Based on the off-center back, your example should grade a 3 at best (most likely a 2 or 2.5).
And it does not hurt to handle a card with clean bare hands. Anyone who handles cards professionally (graders, dealers, etc.), does not use gloves at all.
Enjoy your new card!
Well it may not have been fully worth it but I actually found someone locally who is sending it in for me to psa. Definitely going to hold on to it but I'm mainly interested in seeing what it gets! Nice piece for my collection even though I probably could have just bought a graded example to begin with. Nice to have an old card that I went out and found myself!
Please post results, and the grade isn't important, it is that you are happy!
