If I see one more auction titled "Holy Grail"....
First, some history on the Grail
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MScMG4eGaGM
This entire auction was a Holy Grail
PSA certrainly is entitled to join the club of Holy Grail headliners
A nod to dpeck. But Wrestling Holy Grail cards? One's fake and one is a symbol of faith for millions of followers.
Maybe the frontrunner

Mouschi, keep your pants on for this one. For players that had balls bounce off their head for home runs, this is the Holy Grail
Four items in the same auction referencing the Holy Grail; how can that be?
new law takes effect in 2018; can't use the term Holy Grail for any memorabilia after 1952
Now were getting Wacky
Jackie is certainly entitled to the term Holy Grail
Come on, Really?
If you live in the Bay Area, this IS the Holy Grail
For those that want to search for the Holy Grail, this is a must see
My Holy Grail would be a 1952 Sealed Wax Case.
Collecting Unopened from '72-'83; mostly BBCE certified boxes/cases/racks.
Prefer to buy in bulk.
Comments
I guess many Buyers are searching the term "holy grail"
I think it is almost as moronic as the people who put "Sick" in their description for a card. I have always wanted to be a wise guy and send them an email asking them if they could cure it before I purchase
How about Centered and the card is 65-35 or 70-30.
Harrumph! We all have our holy grails, but it's getting rediculous!

At least the Honus Wagner card would truly qualify for most people.
The term I loathe is LQQK
Being a fan of Moby Dick, I always preferred the term "White Whale" over Holy Grail.
They call me "Pack the Ripper"
I think RARE is one of the most over used terms in auction descriptions. It's not rare when there are 20 just like it on eBay.

The price on that Garoppolo is just insane. I'm as big a Pats homer/Garoppolo fan there is but Jimmy hasn't done enough in the NFL to warrant that type of price tag. You could get a Brady 2000 Sp Authentic BGS 9.5 for a 3rd of that Garoppolo price tag.

I did not know there were more than one holy grail, thanks for letting me know
i thought my 1955 Humberto Robinson PSA 9 was the holy grail

It's silly, everyone knows Elsa Schneider currently has possession of the Holy Grail and is residing in Alexandreta.
Kiss me twice.....let's party.
Is she the one that showed it on TV and its the one where people bit off pieces of it to have a souvenir?
If so there wasn't much left of it.
Never mind. I yahooed her name and I see you were going with a Indiana Jones joke on that one.
Well done, Sir!

How can anyone 30 years or older not admit the above link is the greatest Holy Grail reference ever.
I'd trim it some more, and pay 1/3 of the Brady, and get a Montana BGS 9.5 rookie instead
It would be funny if someone actually put the real Holy Grail up for auction with the caption:
Original Holy Grail--The 'Honus Wagner' of Grails. LQQK

I get that hype drives the hobby at times but that just seems crazy for that Garoppolo. He had a great month as a starter but its not like he made the playoffs or won a SB or even broke a bunch of records like Aaron Judge did this past year. This has always been my biggest gripe in this hobby when a player with minimal game experience has cards selling for astronomical prices.

If the real Holy Grail went up for auction who would authenticate it and how would it grade after all these years ? And was it ever alterd or trimmed ? If you had that grail and sent it to PSA, I wonder how long it would take for poppage .

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.
