''Twas the Rip Before Christmas

''Twas the Rip before Christmas, and all through the house.
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
And I had stashed several unopened boxes to rip - and no these are not to share.

The children were all nestled all snug in their beds,
And I was on the CU board and a few others checking out some new threads.
Mama in her Victoria's Secret, and I in my Tommy Johns.
Had just sprinkled the Reindeer food over our front and back lawns.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I tripped over the sorting card table, and all over the floor my 74's they would splatter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
And before I got there I looked on the floor and saw a 1974 Ryan, Johnny Bench, and PSA 8 Norm Cash.

The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow,
Gave a lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a box of 2017 Bowman Draft, a couple of Mantles, and a box of 1987 Fleer!

My eyes how they twinkled, my dimples how merry.
Should I tear into them early, or should I learn how to share (y) * sorry had to make it rhyme :)
I spoke not a word, but got right into tearing,
Gave the family some Call of Duty games to play, so I did not have to worry about sharing.

On Aaron, on Mays, on Clemente and Maris,
If my wife finds this Mantle she might sell it to buy two tickets to Paris!
To the top of the porch to the top of the wall,
Man I wish they still had a card shop down at the mall.

I sprung to my feet, to my team gave a whistle.
And was screaming and running through the house like a heat seeking missile.
My neighbors heard me exclaim as my screaming began,
This 1987 Bo might get a 9, maybe a 10!

Don't buy too many cards this year,
Unless you want to put your debt levels and credit score in danger.
But remember this Christmas season does not happen,
Without remembering the baby, 2000 years ago, asleep in the manger.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, and hope you get to spend it with loved ones and friends.
Any maybe a few cool cards too ;)
