Topps Gallery Of Champions
Anyone else collect these ? Topps issued them from 1984 to 1991. I eventually collected them all. In 1984 they were called Gallery of Immortals and from 1985 on, Gallery of Champions. Each set involved 12 mini metallic versions of various stars from the regular set that year. In 84 and 85 the sets were issued in bronze and silver format. From 86 to 91 they added a third set in aluminum. In each year one of the 12 cards was also done in pewter, but only one. ( for some reason a lot of pewter fakes were created ) The Standard Catalog used to list which "card" was produced in pewter in each year ( when it still listed post 60 issues).
Most of the set were apparently issued as premiums to dealers for selling Topps Traded sets. With only a couple of exceptions of sets came within a nice presentation box.

Cool sets Al.
Don't have a single set tho.
Merry Christmas buddy.
I have all the Cardinals, of course.

Al,
That's cool that you have them all. I just have all the Nolan Ryan's. I had a complete Bronze set (I don't remember the year), but I took them out and use the case to hold my Ryan's.

Don--This is the kind of question with which Bob usually "excels"
By example, taking 1988, a full boxed set of Silvers weigh 115.8 Oz,, Bronze 114 Oz and Aluminum 14.6 Oz
For individual "cards" it was 1.2 Oz for Silver, 1.0 Oz Bronze and .2 for Aluminum

I have a few sets, and a lot of Garvey singles from 84.
I see what you did there.
