What The Heck Is Up With All The REPRINT Cards

Hello. After a long absence I've returned to the quest of upgrading my collection and I keep seeing ebay listings for reprints of vintage cards. They look very much like the real thing... I don't see "reprint" or other indicator printed on the cards. This is a very disturbing trend. Has anyone seen one in person? How likely is it that one would be able to identify a reprint if they had it in their hand? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Ebay cannot do anything about it there is just to many
All you can do is educate yourself and if you do get scammed their buyer protection is pretty good

they are pretty easy to see, I can tell on a scan and much easier in hand.
They have a more blurry, pixilated look then real cards and the white is the easiest tell as it will have little blue pixels thats shouldn't be there. White is white, not pixelated. The feel of the card is often not the same either.
also, if you ever see the words not sure if it is authentic, selling as a reprint, it is always a reprint.
Thank you for the replies. It is crazy to think how flooded the market is becoming given that there is no way to stop the ongoing effort by the scammers out there. You just gotta know that their printing process will only improve over time.

If you're looking to buy a certain authentic card and it is known to also have reprints out there, you could always just buy the reprint first to compare to the original. In most cases the reprint is usually very cheap.

Here is my reprint, exact front and back as the original. I bought it to see if I can feel or see the difference. The reprint feels like it was printed on plastic, does not have the cardboard feel of a 1966 Topps. Also the coloring does not look right. Easy to tell its a reprint in hand, very hard to tell by picture
I thought in years past Topps had reps who were a part of the eBay Trust or whatever system in which they would go after these sellers and the sellers would get booted off eBay. I guess no one cares anymore to patrol this.
This fact will no doubt be a boon for the TPG'ers,if it hasn't already, as more purchasers/collectors will seek security refuge in the grading/authenticating of their cards.
