@Gluggo Everybody has an estate. An estate is all of your stuff, not just your real estate. Some estates are big, some estates are small. I am hardly a really wealthy man, but I won't miss any meals, with luck and planning.

Thank you for that I was just joking but I guess I have an estate too by that definition. Not sure what my dog will think of this when I tell her.
Interesting mine just showed up today from the mint. No email showed up but the mint web site does show it shipped. Going to transload it into another box direct ship to PCGS for grading. If I am lucky I will get a MS68 out of the bunch after there done grading.

~HABE FIDUCIAM IN DOMINO III V VI / III XVI~ POST NUBILA PHOEBUS / AFTER CLOUDS, SUN Love for Music / Collector of Dreck
I photographed these for the first time on Thursday. I think they’re great, but I wish they all came in one set. I prepared these photos for our Memorial Day post on Instagram.
All five medals are available on the Mint's website.
Small quantities now available! These units are from cancellations. Sales will not exceed orders placed during original order window.
At least 99 available!
Thank you so much I actually never bought any due to the wait but I went ahead and bought 1 of each. That is why I love this site always get the most up to date information. Can I afford it NO but there is Pay Pal! 6 months interest free!
I feel the Mint missed an opportunity to design and execute a medal that honors and commemorates World War 1 and everyone that fought and sacrificed in that war. Are they hiring comic book illustrators to design these medals? Very amateurish designs.
Yes but the 70s way to expensive I will just do like you say put in a safe. At least for now. I am pretty much done sending coins in for grading got to catch up on all the other expenses.
The Mint does seem to feel that once the initial order period is over, they can subsequently still sell the items that were returned, refused or were in credit transactions that were declined by the card issuers. This was not the first time they have done this (or attempted this).
One supposes that this damps the enthusiasm of the coin flippers. Genuine collectors may welcome the later opportunity to acquire something they missed at the original issue price. I needed/had a place for the two sets I ordered on 2 August and was happy to beat the eBay prices.
I agree BillDugan I was able to pick up one of the gold mercury dimes that way. They were all sold out then they allowed the extra's to be sold and I was lucky enough to grab one before it went poof! Sold out.
Well my guess about these unattractive unwanted sets is that no one really wanted them at all . But some people ordered because they wanted in ..... just in case. Just in case they were actually a winner and it turned out they were hot and could be flipped for the big bucks. They had plenty of time to rethink their positions and back out. Back out is what many did.
Now, these very limited Sets are available to the many that didn't want any parts of them in the original ordering period. Has anyone decided they made a mistake in not ordering something that didn't appeal to them. Guess not because the Sets are still up on the Mint website. Funny how something only available in a 30 Day Ordering Window now looks like it will be available F O R E V E R........... and a day.
Received two sets today 8/08/18 no serious quality issues. Marines set perfect in every way, one possible fingerprint on box suggested Coast Guard set had been sent out out and returned. No serious quality issues at all.
P.S. Oh, if Mr. Bin Laden was hoping for medal designs that glorify War, well, yes, these designs are more muted, more indirect.
Looks like they stopped selling the WW1 sets. Anybody know when this happened? I thought these were never going to sell out, was going the buy a few more.

Its gone sent it off by USPS to their PO Box! I hope I make the First Strike cut off date! Now I just need my Daniel Carr coins to ship!

A quick check of the 1st Strike page shows:

Not all shown because there is a gap in the numbering but you get the idea. You are good till June 18th for unsealed boxes.
Fed Ex totally missed today (Friday), their expected delivery date. Complete whiff.
But they are quick with e-mail notification saying tomorrow (Saturday).
Thank you Kudbegud I knew I had plenty of time but nice to know the cut off date!

I just got my 5 medals Now What?

Put them in the safe and if you want 70s order them online.
Don't quote me on that.

Needed and bought another Marines and Coast Guard sets on 2 August.
The Mint is so predictable in their inconsistency. On sale for a limited time, until they aren't. You just can't trust'em, lol.
I knew it would happen.

I have to disagree. They did keep the mintage to what was ordered during the 30 day window. Just like they promised.
Blame those who cancelled their orders. What should the mint have done, destroyed the thousands sets of those who cancelled?
Everyone knew the mintage after the 30 day window closed. That mintage has not been increased. And you knew what that mintage was months ago.

The 2018 commemoratives went off-sale at midnight on Thursday, 12/27/18.
I know that I received several U.S. Mint e-mails on this topic during the final two weeks.
fWIW, 2017 dated regular coinage goes off-sale at midnight on Monday, 12/31/18 (unless the product option sells out earlier).
The didn't put the notice on the medal sets, but all the regular commems (including the BCA) have the following in red:
Well, off-sale forever from the Mint...
