Getting a white football signed - cons?

I'm curious as to what some opinions are on getting white-panel footballs signed. I know baseballs signed with Sharpies is a no-no because of eventual bleeding and spreading of the ink - aren't white footballs subject to the same effects over time? I've seen several where this appears to be the case. Thoughts?
Also, if it is to be a Sharpie, is blue or black better on a white football?
