Which wrapper type has lowest chance for damaged cards?

Been contemplating busting a few early ‘80s baseball and football. Before I take off the BBCE wrapper, and understanding every box is different and you don’t know until you get in there, do cello packs tend to have fewer corner dings than wax? Are racks the best? All essentially the same? No specific years or manufacturers, just a general question.
Also, is centering on the top card on cello/rack packs a good gauge for the cards behind them?

1970s cellos which were tightly wrapped are not an ideal source for mint cards, though you can still find them towards the middle of the pack where wrap isn't as tight, or in thicker pre-1975 packs which contained higher card counts. Better are the loosely wrapped cellos from early 80s, though Topps produced both versions from 1980-1982. Racks are generally a better source for higher grade cards
Wax, too. In my experience, centering can vary throughout pack but top card is at least a decent indicator of what you are working with.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
