1967 pack series question

Are 1967 Topps cello packs packed strictly by series (1-6)?

For example, 1967 Topps baseball checklist #1 lists cards 1-109 (including Series 2 checklist). So if you found a cello pack with a Series 2 checklist on top, would it be reasonable to conclude that the pack only contains cards from Series 1 (1-109)?

Asking for a friend.

Thanks,
Tom

No, because the series 2 checklist is included in both series 1 and series 2. Isn't the bottom card also known?

I'm always confused by this, but if I'm not mistaken, the size of the sheet and not necessarily what's on the checklist will determine what cards you get in a series pack. In this era the sheets contained 110 cards. As PaulMaul notes, the series 2 checklist will be included on the 1st series sheet as well as the 2nd series sheet. This is the origin of a lot of the variations on checklists from this era.

Throw in SP's and DP's and it can be confusing. JMoran19 is an expert on this stuff so maybe shoot him a PM for a definite answer.

I believe a small amount of the follow-on series cards were often included in packs to entice kids to continue buying packs after they completed the current series.
