Very Nice!!!
Looks great!!! Congrats.
Dave - awesome pickup!! Where did you find that one? Sure there is a good story behind this find.

Holy cow that is awesome, even down to the centering of the hero cards on the front. I suggest not ripping it...
Fantastic, congrats!

Thanks all. It was in Morphy Auctions Oct 28 sale. Were it not for receiving their catalogue I would have missed it. They also had one with Carew on top.
I called to check on the provenance and it checked out. Then they shipped direct to BBCE after the auction so it could be verified and wrapped.
Have not seen more than a handful of authentic yellow header 71 racks for a few years now, and probably no 1970 racks for about 4 years.
Given my proximity to the Mets in the late 60s and early 70s when I saw Seaver on top it was impossible not to go after it.
So happy to have this one.

That's a beauty, Dave! Correct punch hole, too, for this series, which is not easily found with these. Do you have a scan of the back?

Sweet rack! Congrats on the pick-up. When is the pack break video going to be posted?
Thanks, other Dave.

That is one fine pack! Congrats on the pickup. Ron Santo on back too!
Monster pack congrats!
nice rack!
and i'll give ya three x's the header asking price for it?
LOL.
Sorry but it's staying in the collection. If I ever were to decide to part with it the first call is to Cpamike, who has a run of Seaver racks from 1972 through the late 70s or early 80s (don't recall the exact year's).

Congratulations Dave and Happy Thanksgiving buddy.
I got a Yanks stadium seat from one of their last auctions.
Met them at the National - liked talking with them.
Seaver/Santo! Nice!
great looking rack you picked up
Can you find a 1972 rack for me?
nice Rack Dave--looks like a few others wanted it. Went for a very strong price
Awesome pack. It looks like the left and center cells are 2nd series and the right cell is 3rd series. Did Topps mix series for these racks? Was this issued later in the year?

Topps issued both single and mixed series racks in the early 70s before switching to all series format in 1974.

Thanks for the info. Would be awesome to see a 5th/6th series rack someday. Congrats to the OP on a great pickup.
