Cleaning a white panel football...

I recently picked-up a Wilson white-panel autograph football. It has some scuffs and dirt spots from years of storage and being moved-around.

Any one with any ideas on how to clean these? I tried a little soap and water, but it seems like it needs something a little stronger.

Maybe a leather cleaner? I thought I'd ask before I tried something stronger on it.
