You can fill out their application forms and send them in. They will let you know when they open enrollment. I believe they take new members from time to time.

I am a member of the Liberty Seated Collectors Club (lsccweb.org/)... in addition to the awesome Gobrecht Journal I get three times a year, they also had a deal a while back to sign up new CAC collector members with some free submissions, so I got in that way. Not sure if that is still available, but worth checking out.

go to your local coin shop and ask the owner of it if they will vouch for you and then use them as a reference...you will be good...the "not accepting any new customers" thing is mostly for the sheep ;)

They require an ANA membership so I won't be joining soon.. :D

Just a simple question, is it impartial if they make you join a specific organization to be able to use their 'grading' service?

    Just a question

They require an ANA membership so I won't be joining soon.-never heard of that. U sure?

Apparently CAC is swamped. Allow them time. I doubt they can handle a load that includes say 20-30 daily submissions of 1-3 coins. It is NOT a money thing, its man power.

Been wondering that too. At a recent show for few CAC coins I had no lookers or takers public not want pay money for them.

My primary collection is IHC PR coins and I would value the opinion of Rick Snow's Photoseal credential more than CAC for IHC's. But I do have relations with dealers that will submit to CAC on my behalf. And in that process I get a secondary opinion from the dealer.

Don't be vague ... which organization? If you mean the ANA, then so state.

If it's the ANA, what is the conflict of interest between CAC and the ANA?

The ANA requirement adds an impression of legitimacy. o:)

How does ANA membership add legitimacy? Membership in the ANA is not based on anything substantive ... just pay your dues.

Perfectly done, sir. Make something completely up and then use it to fit one’s agenda. Bravo

I really was not "starting another CAC thread", although I guess I did, sorry.
I just had a 'coin related question".

TDN, my anti-CAC agenda is as subtle as your pro-CAC agenda.

Let's disagree and let time be the judge. :)

I’m just trying to figure out if it was an honest mistake or an insidious lie. If the former, then an oopsie would seem to be in order.

That wasn't meant directly at you, I just meant in general. I'll probably say the same thing on the next CAC thread tomorrow.
