Is anyone familiar with this counter stamp? It’s obviously holed and on top of that the initials EP were scribed onto the reverse opposite the countermark.....other than that it's nice coin

Looks like w/o the hole, it would've been a fairly valuable coin.
It's kind of like a love token and a counterstamp all in one.

No reason to restore it. It is what it is, with all its history. It has enough strikes that plugging the hole won't matter, and it has enough going for it that there is no need to try. I like it as is.
