Snipers are possibly in the wings...I'm not upping my bid as something in my core collecting has come along, but my big bids get dropped about 3-5 seconds before the end and I am NOT alone in that. Sniping is a huge part of eBay.
No guarantees of course, but you do have people interested. There are 8 separate bidders, well 7 because I'm dropping out, which seems like a good number for a less common item. Do you have a lot of watchers too? If you've got the eyeballs, the bids (if the coin is worth what you think) should come. I'd get worried if it was a more esoteric item and there weren't the watchers/bidders already lined up.
I guess my point is that the bid 24 hours in advance is not necessarily an indicator the coin will go cheap.
Thanks for your input, Stork (and your bid of course). I have a dozen or so watchers, but my watchers tend to lurk but not bid, from my experience. I don't seem to have much luck with eBay auctions for world coins.
You got your last minute bidder! You can see where who ended up as the underbidder--s/he made a bid, then came back and upped the max. The eventual winner had a late bid, didn't get it and threw one more down. Still had room for another bid, but didn't need it (and no truly last second sniping). Even so, looks like a good outcome

Well, that's odd. I had dropped a watcher bid on this one and got a cancellation notice. Did it have to get relisted?
Sorry, I relisted it - I thought there was a mistake in the listing but there wasn't.
