Any ideas what this is?

A friend owns a comic book store and this walked in with a collection. He's going to weight it, but it is very heavy. It appears to be engraved on the bottom. Anything I can do to clarify this?

I think it's a homemade paperweight made with an old newspaper clipping.

Hiya Alex
Agree that it looks homemade.
Based on the number and era - looks like Tommy Heinsohn.
I agree with the look, but what about the engraving on the bottom?
With all the dots it looks printed. Rules out any king of printing plate.
Looks like a younger Heinson that his 1957 RC. He wore #15 but have seen earlier pics of him wearing #18 maybe 1956.

It almost could pass for Bob Cousy too but he wore #14. Only five other Celtics all-time have worn number 15:
Hal Crisler 1946-47
Jack (Dutch) Garfinkel 1946-49 (also wore #21)
Jim Seminoff 1948-50
Dwight (Red) Morrison 1954-56
and none of them look remotely like that picture. Its gotta be Heinsohn but as to what it is,your guess is as good as mine.

I've been looking at the face - and I'm still confused.
Tho number is not Cousy? That looks more like "Bob" than Tommy.

Tommy:
Just checked career dates.
Heinsohn: 56-65
Cousy: 50-63
I'm guessing Cousy was wearing #15 when pic was taken vs his well known number - 14?
Looks like Cousy.
I thought it looked like Cousy when I first looked at it before reading any of the comments.
