If a player has a regular issue topps traded card will psa include it in the players basic topps registry set? For example, Kirk Gibson doesn’t have his 1993 topps traded card in his topps basic registry set(he didn’t have a base card that season).

Same for Griffey Jr, no 89 topps traded in the topps basic set.

No, they do not include them. While 50% of me agrees with that decision, the other 50% of me won't collect player basic Topps sets for that very reason. I collect some old, but mostly modern. A lot of modern players basic Topps sets, don't include the player's actual rookie card, because it's from Traded and/or Update. If the RC is missing, I have a hard time feeling good about building the set!
Well it IS called the basic set.
