Cards graded PSA 10

Do cards that are graded PSA 10 always have undamaged corners?

Corners should not be damaged but I have seen plenty of examples where they were. In some cases the damage may have occurred after it was graded. A dropped card in a PSA holder can certainly cause damage to a corner.

If a psa 10 has been sold and shipped many times, the card can bounce around inside and cause damage over time

Doubt shipping will cause corner damage as the corners are wide open in the holders. However the edges can be damaged. I posted a thread awhile back where I had damage to a PSA 10 chipper Jones and it actually looks like PSA caused it when sealing it in the holder, not from a drop. But PSA is reviewing it now to see what was done.

We used to have some very interesting and inquisitive characters here years ago.

    One is Brucemo.

Here's his trip to the paint store and the results of attaching a PSA card to a can of paint and having them shake, shake, shake...

    Cliff notes: card before:

    and after:

    Extrapolation

Does the result of this experiment mean that you can bang around a PSA card all you want and nothing bad will happen to it? Clearly you can't, because it's well-known that the cases are susceptible to scratches and cracks. But I'm much less worried that the card inside will suffer damage than I was before. I don't believe that casual shaking will cause much problem if a mechanical paint shaker couldn't do anything.

Love to see what the paint shaker would do with a wax pack with gum. Can you say Ginsu??
