Lot 20431 from SB Summer ANA 2017 auction

Can someone please confirm the obverse and reverse legend for me, as well as who is the moneyer?

I think I have...
(o) EADVPEARD REX ANGLOR
(r) WFIND ON LVNDEEN -or- NFIND (first N retrograde) ON LVNDEEN

Thanks!

I found doing a web search "LIFIND ON LVNDEEN" which suggests the moneyer is Lifino or Liofisa.

I'm not sure but I think you have a piece from the reign of Edward the Confessor. The legends are written in Latin.
The first part is probably Edward , King ( Rex) of England (Anglorum)..
The reverse will state the name of the moneyor and the Mint it was made..
I will guess that LVNDEEN is London.

I read the legends correctly, and the moneyer is LIFINC, or LEOFING. I had it confirmed elsewhere.

@RMW yes, this is a penny from the reign of EtC, struck 1056-1059.

EMC calls the moneyer "Leofing". Mostly spelled LIFINC on coins.

I am not a huge fan of changing spelling to confirm to supposed contemporary nomenclature, especially when it seems that the moneyer always uses "I" and ends his name with "C". Therefore, if he wants to call himself "Lifinc" on his coins, I would call him Lifinc as well.

Your coin looks like "LIFIND:ON LUNDEEN:". Sovereign/Eagles type (SCBC 1181)

Ok, easy to update since I haven't printed the tags yet. Thanks.

Someone send me this bit of information:

"Your coin may have been sold at Spink auction 81, and in the Numismatic Circular in July 1992, November 1992 and February 1993."

The Spink site only goes back to 2002. Anyone have these references who can check for me? Look for SCBC 1181, moneyer LIFINC or LEOFING, from LVNDEEN or LONDON. The coin weighs 1.38 grams (give or take .01 gram).

    Thanks!
