Question for the experts Porto Bello Hoard Cobs and questions...

Hi guys and gals! I have attached some photos of 2 Spanish "cobs" I picked up.

A 4 Reales and an 8 Reales. Potosi mint. 1601 I think???

It looks like earth (dirt) is in the crevices. Should I get rid of the dirt? Can you help me identify them? Should I send them to our hosts?

Thanks!

I should leave the dirt on them as it can be easily removed. If other coins from this hoard have the same dirt that will link your coins to them. I'd send one in to be authenticated too, then the other will be the same, either good or bad.

    Leave the dirt.

Looks like rust deposited to me, think it could be liberated but agree with above.
