Ripped 3 packs of 75 minis this morning...very surprised and pleased with the results...not sure if I can pull a 9 on any but some will be worth the try.

The pictures I took are bad...there are no to little tilts just bad camera angles

Hard to really tell the condition from those scans. However, from what I can tell, they look pretty nice. Thanks for sharing and good luck if you send them in.

Were these from the most recent group break? Maybe we should rip if so.

Very nice! There are some sweet finds still out there in the wild!

The Belanger, Sanders and Moret look especially sharp. Kaline looks very nice, too.

Here are my guesses based on what I can see in the scans (obviously, I can't see spider wrinkles or surface imperfections, so I'll assume there are none):

Belanger - best of the bunch. I'll say 10.
    Kaline - 8 (tilt)
    York - 8 (centered a bit low for a 9)
Sutton - 9oc or 7 if you ask for no qualifiers
    Morris - 8 (centered a tad low for a 9)
    Brohamer - 9oc or 7
Carter - 8 (borderline centered low t/b, but I bet they give you the bump to an 8 for nice corners, register, etc.)
    Spikes - 7 (l/r centering off)
    Mantle/Aaron - 8 (centered low)
    Moret - 8 (centered low t/b)
    Powell/Bench - 7 (l/r centering off)
Blanks - 8 (borderline 9, but centering tad off in both directions - if only one direction, then I would say 9)
Sanders - 8 (bottom edge looks chipped, otherwise, I would guess a 9)

You did well considering that you found this many gradable cards in just three packs.

BTW, looking at the Belanger again, the l/r centering will likely hold it to a 9. But by my eye, it sure looks really nice at first glance, regardless. So, who knows, perhaps it could get a 10.

The Belanger is a tougher card and that one looks as nice as any 9 I can recall.

I do think you have a good chance at a 9 on the Mangual card, too.

I agree with Nick in that a few cards have slight tilts, including the Kaline, but I see that with a number of PSA 9s, so I'd send those in, too.

Only the Carter, Kaline and the Aaron/Mantle MVP card are worth submitting for a potential 8 at current submission level prices.

The MVP Aaron/mantle unfortunately has gum stain on front so won't be submitting...I have probably 300 minis and 200 regulars all raw from packs I'm going to go through...I'll take pictures of the ones I end up submitting...in the past I usually end up with 8s and it's a waste of time and money. Even the 9s rarely bring any return..I still do it in hopes of a couple 10s. I have a pack sub, review sub, and 200 card sub I'm prepping. Fun but certainly time consuming.

You can rub that gum stain off with a used dryer (fabric softener) sheet.

If I remember correctly panty hose works too but alas I have never tried it.

Yep, I've done it for years now. It works on the front because of the gloss finish which prevents the gum or wax from soaking into the cardboard fibers. It will not work on the back of the card, however.

Just be careful when you're rubbing that you don't snag a corner with the dryer sheet. Been there, done that. I lay the card flat on the desk and using my index finger poked into the sheet, rub/wipe the wax/gum away.

Panty hose works also, but I find used dryer sheets easier to obtain (and I don't have to explain to my wife why I want her old hose, for obvious reasons, lol).

I've used a nylon to take off a wax stain from the front of a card, but not sure if that will work for a gum stain as those stains tend to seep into the surface or leave an outline or impression onto the cardboard. I suppose it will depend just how set into the cardboard the gum stain is and whether it has pebbled the surface. It's very easy to take wax off, though.

Curious as to why with the fleer basketball stickers, the wax is on the back more, and the nylon takes it off. Is that just as glossy as the fronts of vintage then? I never even used it on the front before which is "funny". I wonder if I have missed out on a few non st grades in the past.

You can easily wipe wax off the glossy side of a card using a woman's nylon stocking or a dryer sheet as Nick mentioned. The cardboard back of the card is too porous for that to work, however, and will just deepen and darken the stain. I have heard some people use benzene for that though I haven't personally tried that.

Dryer sheet worked perfectly, thx again for the advice...now I need to go through thousands of cards...lol. Here are the 75s I'll be subbing in the next grouping.

I'm glad the dryer sheet worked out!

You have a few new ones there in the scans: Ryan (looks like a 7), Stargell (looks like a 7), Zisk (very nice - looks like a 9 or higher), Hisle (looks like an 8), Moose (looks like an 8), Gentry (looks like an 8), and Morlan (looks like an 8). My view of the others is unchanged. I'm not sure of your reasons for submitting these cards, but if by chance the primary objective is to make your money back and then some, here's something to consider. You might want to check recent eBay sales/VCP on these, and then go from there. For example, I just auctioned a Moret in an 8 for 2 bucks, and bought a 9 a few months back for around 10 bucks plus shipping. A Gentry, even in a 9, brings less than 10 bucks.

    Good luck!

Thx. I need to do some more research indeed.
